Elizabeth FAHEY Obituary
Elizabeth M. Fahey Formerly of Kennett Square, PA, wife of Edward J. Fahey died of respiratory failure on Monday, April 28, 2003 at her home. She was 72 and would have celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary on June 13th. She was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Helen D. Mullen and was born in West Grove, PA. Her family moved shortly thereafter to the Kennett Square area where she lived except for a brief period in Pittsburgh and a year in Ireland, until moving to Jenner's Pond in 2002. An honors graduate of Kennett High School and what is now West Chester University, she was a debater, a cheerleader and had a flair for acting which carried over into local productions in later years. Following college and before starting her own family, she was a teacher at Kennett Elementary School. Her interests included travel, tennis and bowling plus the Chester County Hospital and its Encore shop, the Kennett symphony office and the Senior Center bookstore. She belonged to St. Patrick Church in Kennett and St. Mary's in West Grove and had been a member of the Kennett Country Club and a director of the Kennett YMCA. She is survived by her husband and 4 children, Susan, wife of Jay Calio of Kennett Square, Patricia, wife of Larry Donmoyer of Leonardtown, MD, Robert, husband of Carolyn Wihelm Fahey, West Chester and Jane, wife of John Orner of Paoli. There are 10 grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Josephine Fahey of Kennett. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Paxson of West Chester. She was also devoted to her sister's sons and their families. A Requiem mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Friday, May 2nd, 2003 at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith St. in Kennett Square. There also will be a memorial gathering at 12:30 pm at the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club, 100 East Locust Lane, Kennett Square, PA on the same date. Interment will be private. In lieu of other remembrances, donations are recommended to The Visiting Nurse Association (Hospice), 795 E. Marshall St., Suite 204, West Chester, PA 19380.
